The popularity of footpath trading and alfresco dining has grown and new guidelines are required to ensure that this does not impact on pedestrian safety.
In response to this Council has prepared new footpath trading guidelines for the public to comment on.
The new guidelines provide clear information about applying for a Footpath Trading Permit and outlines requirements for moveable structures such as café furniture display stands and permanent structures such as screens and awnings.
The guidelines apply to all public footpaths and public thoroughfares in shopping centres in Manningham on both Council-owned and private property.
