Eastern Golf Course

Amendment C101 and Proposed Development Plan

Mirvac, owner of the former Eastern Golf Course, is seeking to redevelop the site with housing.

Mirvac has requested a change to the existing Manningham Planning Scheme to allow the redevelopment. This change is called Amendment C101.

Mirvac has submitted a proposed Development Plan along with Amendment C101.

Public submissions are now closed on the Amendment C101 and/or the Development Plan.

Note: If Council approves the proposed Development Plan, a development which would normally need a planning permit, such as a subdivision, the construction of a house on a lot with an area less than 300 square metres or multi-level apartments, will not be advertised to the community.

This means that the amendment process is the only opportunity for residents and other interested parties to make a submission in relation to the proposed development of the site.

At the Council meeting on 27 August 2013, Council decided to seek authorisation of the Minister for Planning to prepare Amendment C101 to facilitate the residential redevelopment of the Eastern Golf Course site. Council will not seek authorisation until changes are made to the Planning Scheme Amendment and proposed Development Plan. The changes are outlined in the Council resolution.

If the Minister authorises the Planning Scheme Amendment to be exhibited, the community will be given an opportunity to provide their feedback during several stages of the amendment process.
