Warrandyte Community Facilities Review
We’re planning for the future of community facilities in Warrandyte. We aim to identify improvements to local infrastructure that will support the increasing demand for community services.
Given the wide geographic spread of our community buildings and services in Warrandyte, we’re exploring various options to enhance infrastructure and service connectivity.
Over the course of this review, Council consulted with more than 30 stakeholders including community groups and facility users.
This process included detailed needs analysis and building condition assessments to better understand community needs and ensure future works results in fit-for-purpose facilities.
This is a key project under the Community Infrastructure Plan.

The report, which was presented to Council for noting at the 26 May 2026 Council meeting, captures feedback received during community consultation from 8 December 2025 to 16 February 2026.
As a result of the feedback, 4 agreed priority focus areas have been identified, in consultation with stakeholders and community groups.
We’ll work with the community on these identified areas, while continuing to address short-term maintenance and renewal priorities.
Thank you to everyone who provided feedback and participated in discussions. Your input has directly shaped this outcome and the next steps.

• Support for a dedicated Men’s Shed facility
• Support for the Warrandyte Historical Society Museum staying in its current location

• Support for improving sporting facilities
Next steps and priority focus areas
In response to this feedback, and further discussions with community groups and stakeholders, we’ve identified the following priority focus areas:
1. Warrandyte Scouts

2. Warrandyte Men’s Shed
We’ll further explore options at Warrandyte Reserve for the Men’s Shed, including the potential expansion of the Warrandyte Community Hall or tennis clubhouse. Further consultation will be undertaken with stakeholders as part of a feasibility study.

We’ll work with Warrandyte Kindergarten, and the Warrandyte Childcare and Preschool Cooperative to look at the best options for future facilities early years services. This will include consultation with the Department of Education and schools regarding longer-term plans for facilities in Warrandyte.
4. Warrandyte Historical Society Museum
We’ll work with the society to upgrade their existing facility and address their needs within the constraints of the site.
Other facilities
We’ll progressively address improvements to other facilities, such as sporting facilities at Warrandyte Reserve and Colman Park, in consultation with user groups and the community, and guided by Council plans, policies, and our Capital Works Program.

We have completed stage one of the Warrandyte Community Facilities Review, which involved consulting with over 30 services to compile a needs and demand analysis.
This consultation highlighted the importance of community infrastructure in sustaining social connections, health and wellbeing in Warrandyte.
While services highlighted key issues such as limited car parking and accessibility challenges, we found that many of Warrandyte’s community facilities have the capacity for increased use. Additionally, community groups are enthusiastic about collaborating and working together.
We are now entering stage two, which will be informed by the needs and demand analysis and will explore options for future community facility provision.
We’ll provide an update to the community on the project by mid 2025.
