UPDATED - Warrandyte Community Facilities Review Report available now
The Warrandyte Community Facilities Review Report is now available. It identifies potential future opportunities for improving local community facilities.
No decisions have been made yet. Each opportunity will be explored further with user groups and the wider Warrandyte community.
This review was a key recommendation of the 2023 Manningham Community Infrastructure Plan.
Over the past 18 months, we’ve listened to feedback from more than 30 stakeholders, including community groups and facility users. Thank you to everyone who participated, your feedback has helped shape this report.
Why we did this review
The goal was to identify opportunities for Warrandyte’s community infrastructure and make sure future works delivered facilities that provide the greatest benefit to the community
The review included meetings with key stakeholders, a detailed needs analysis and building condition assessments. These steps ensure future works will deliver fit-for-purpose facilities that meet community needs.
What’s in the report?
A list of opportunities including:
- Expand and upgrade Warrandyte Community Hall at Warrandyte Reserve to allow increased use, which might include relocating Warrandyte Scouts and Men’s Shed.
- Advocate to the Victorian Government for a new and larger Kindergarten at one of Warrandyte primary schools, to replace the existing Kindergarten at Warrandyte Reserve.
- If the kindergarten moves, consider relocating Warrandyte Childcare and Preschool to a new purpose-built facility on the Taroona Avenue site.
- Improve Warrandyte Reserve sporting facilities and explore options to increase pavilion use.
- Explore additional users for Warrandyte Community Centre.
- Address long-term needs of Warrandyte Historical Museum, starting with updating the current building.
- Investigate options at Colman Park for increased use of the pavilion, sports ground, tennis facilities, and horse and pony grounds.
What happens next?
- We are currently seeking feedback on the Warrandyte Facilities Review and proposed opportunities.
- We will consider the feedback received as we finalise the outcome of the review.
- We will continue to consult with key stakeholders as we investigate opportunities in more detail.
- We will commence a feasibility study in 2026 to investigate the potential expansion and upgrade of the Warrandyte Community Hall, in consultation with user groups.
