Consultation has concluded

Tuckers Road is an important local link that currently carries traffic in Templestowe and services schools and the local community.

The road offers local residents a link between King Street and Serpells Road in Templestowe, providing a through connection for traffic travelling to and from surrounding suburbs. However the road is in need of reconstruction to ensure the road infrastructure continues to meet Victorian standards and our community's ongoing needs and safety. Therefore Manningham will be undertaking this important work in two stages as part of the Council's 2021/2022 and 22/23 Capital Works Programs.

The Planning for this section of road is nearly complete and construction works will start in early 2022.

Stage 1 will be between King Street to Burleigh Drive.

Stage 2 will be between Burleigh Drive to Bali Hi Boulevard

These works will include:

  • construction of the road including kerb and channel as well as underground drainage
  • construction of a Shared user path along the west side of the road and footpath on the east
  • addition of parallel parking bays
  • associated vegetation removal and re-vegetation works.

There are parts of the road that require major treatment to get them to a good standard, other sections require minor asphalting

Some traffic disruption is expected during the works, with detours in place for through traffic. Residents will still be able to access their properties.

    We are pleased to inform you that despite all supply and resourcing issues we have managed to still stay within the project time frame so far.

    Below is a summary of the project's physical progress:

    • The Eastern footpath is 95% complete;
    • Drainage works are 95% Completed;
    • Kerb and Chanel's works are 75% Completed including the indented carparks;
    • The Western Shared Path is 20% completed;
    • Roundabout works set out completed, Kerb works Planned to be started Mid-May;
    • Earthworks are Planed to be started immediately after the Kerb, Shared path, footpath, and roundabout works are completed.
