The Hillcroft Reserve playspace upgrade is now complete and open to the public. New trees are also scheduled to be planted within the playground area during Council's planting season.

This project is part of our Parks Improvement Program and was delivered under our 2024/25 open space Capital Works Program.

Where is it?

Hillcroft Reserve is located along Hillcroft Drive and Lawanna Drive in Templestowe.

It is a large reserve with an existing playspace and a timber staircase to the north of the reserve that partially links pedestrians to Lawanna Drive.

Why is it needed?

Why is it needed?

The last major upgrade to the playspace at Hillcroft Reserve occurred 20 years ago, with many play pieces, furniture and park assets requiring replacement. The upgrade will also provide new opportunities to expand the play area for children of varying ages.

The existing timber staircase is also showing signs of wear and tear, with a new path and stairway proposed to safely link both ends of the reserve from Hillcroft Drive to Lawanna Drive.

When is it happening?

The final design plan will be released in late 2024, with construction to occur in early 2025.

How will the work affect me?

We will make every effort to minimise any disruption to residents and visitors.

The reserve will be closed during construction. The nearest alternative park is Church Road North Playspace, 1.2km away in Ruffey Lake Park, Templestowe, VIC 3106.
