Consultation has concluded

Trees and bright yellow umbrellas in a new village square at Jackson Court

Council has embarked on a new village square, temporary pop-up park and activation program at a range of sites across Manningham, to help re-invigorate the local economy and connect our community.

We want to help strengthen the village square - a place for people to meet in the centre of their local shopping area. We know that neighbourhood centre renewal and support for local businesses is one for the best things we can do to encourage resilience and recovery as we emerge from the COVID lock-down. We are asking local businesses and the community to share their ideas and help shape community places that are important to you.

Firstly tell us where, then tell us what you would like to see there. We will come back to you with Concept Plans based on your inputs and hopefully we can do something together early in the new year. There may be some things that can happen straight away, like us supporting a local group to run a COVID-safe event, supporting more outdoor dining, or helping you get together safely in your favourite place.

Let's make our neighbourhoods stronger.

Tell us your best place making ideas. Does your community organisation or business have an idea that would support resilience and recovery in Warrandyte? It could be a simple temporary park, or a one-off event, or a library activity. It might be something you have seen work elsewhere. Let's keep the conversation going and see if we can work on the best ideas together.
