About Placemaking
Placemaking helps us to re-imagine and reinvent our public spaces in Manningham.
We want to hear about what you, our community, value about your local neighbourhoods and precincts, and your ideas for making them great places to connect, have fun, do business and feel good about being together and being safe.
To do this well, we need you to tell us what you want to see, experience and enjoy so that we can support you in making your place better.
Placemaking opportunities at the Civic Precinct
The Civic Precinct includes:
MC2 and the Civic Centre and surrounding areas, including the car park and the Doncaster Hill Community Garden
the shopping strip around Schramm’s Lane (across Doncaster Road from MC2)
the underground pedestrian way under Doncaster Road
the small strip of shops below JJ Tulley Drive.
It is an area that has a large worker presence, surrounding high density residential development, valued green space and outdoor areas, and a number of service organisations and public facilities, small businesses, restaurants and cafes.
How can we make the Civic Precinct a better place?
We would like to help activate this space to support all these users and build community and vibrancy around our Civic Precinct. It may be through quite small and simple ideas (like Spoonville), or through larger projects (like creating more outdoor dining opportunities).
Tell us what you would like to see us support. Here's how to contribute:
