Consultation has concluded

To help bring people together, we installed four temporary pop-up parks, extended outdoor dining and launched community activations as part of our Placemaking program.

We recently asked for your feedback on our pop-up parks, outdoor dining spaces and activations. Thank you to everyone who completed the survey. Your feedback will help us plan for the next steps in Placemaking.

About Placemaking

Placemaking aims to strengthen the connections between people and the places around us. It helps build community resilience and is one way of making neighbourhood centres and villages more vibrant.

Our pop-up parks and extended outdoor dining provided spaces where our community could meet in a COVID-safe way to reconnect with others in their local village square, and help supporting our local traders.

Council provided a small funding boost to community groups and small businesses to host small scale events and projects to make their local neighbourhood come alive. Many of these events have been held in the temporary pop-up parks.

With community-based participation at its centre, effective Placemaking builds on the local community's assets, inspiration and potential to provide quality public spaces that support people's health, happiness and wellbeing.
