UPDATE: Manningham Draft Parking Permit Policy was discussed at the last Council Meeting on Tuesday 23 April. To view the minutes for this meeting, visit manningham.vic.gov.au/council-meeting-23-april-2019

Demand for on-street vehicle parking in Manningham is increasing.

To respond to our growing community and ensure Manningham remains a great place to live, work and play, we are reviewing our Parking Permit Policy. The Parking Permit Policy applies to areas of Manningham where on-street parking restrictions apply and in trader parking areas within our commercial activity precincts.

The draft policy aims to ensure equitable distribution of parking permits. The policy will guide the process for issuing on-street parking permits in residential areas, local shopping strips, and in construction work zones.

Some of the key changes to the existing Parking Permit Policy include:

  • replacing the current three-year residential permit with a 12 month permit for all residential and commercial parking
  • prohibiting residential parking permits for existing developments of 10 or more dwellings, and five or more dwellings built after the adoption of the reviewed policy
  • restricting the number of Trader Permits issued to businesses that already have off-street parking
  • issuing Trader Permits to specific businesses
  • restricting the times of Tradesperson Permits
  • identifying specific Carers Permits and validity periods
  • charging a nominal fee for all lost and stolen permits

The draft Policy aims to ensure a fair and equitable system for everyone who live and park their cars in Manningham.

The consultation has now closed.
