Consultation has concluded

Located on Rocklea Road, Bulleen, this reserve offers residents and visitors a variety of recreational choices including a play space, fitness equipment and basketball.

Construction of the new playspace is commencing in mid-May and will finish by the end of June 2022.

This follows on from the second round of community consultation in October 2021 which focused on the playspace concept plan. 59 responses were received.

Incorporating the feedback from the community consultation, the following elements are funded and can be delivered including:

  • New play elements including junior and senior climbing units with slides and an adventure ropes course.
  • New swing set with strap, toddler and basket swing.
  • Larger, coloured multipurpose court with basketball and netball rings.
  • New shade sails.
  • New drinking fountain, picnic settings and seats.
  • Landscaping with rock and log edging for nature play.
  • Improved access into and around the play area.
  • Additional seats, log seats and picnic settings throughout the reserve.

Please note that the plexipave and line marking for the multipurpose court will occur in Spring as it requires warmer weather to set.

Other elements included as part of these works include:

  • Additional seats, log seats, litter bin and picnic settings around the reserve
  • Multipurpose goals and improved drainage on the ‘sports oval’ and around some of the paths

Items incorporated from feedback include basket swing, monkey bars, turnover bars and Four Square line marking.

Other great ideas were suggested in the feedback, but there is currently no funding available for larger elements such as a bigger basketball court, BBQs, shelters, and public toilet. These are beyond the scope of works.
