FAQs
Why is the playspace being upgraded?
After more than 20 years, it's time for a refresh of the Katrina Gully Reserve playspace which will include new play equipment, furniture, landscaping and basketball pad.
What will the outdoor fitness hub include?
The new outdoor fitness hub will include various fitness equipment suitable for many fitness levels and age groups. The equipment will provide a complete workout to promote physical activity among visitors.
Will the existing shade sail be repaired?
The existing shade sail at Katrina Gully Reserve will be getting a facelift as part of the playspace upgrade. We're expanding the shade sail to not only cover the new picnic table area but extend further north and cover the junior play and triple swing playground areas. Please refer to the final design plan. New trees will also be planted around the playspace to improve natural shade.
Will the existing Basketball pad be upgraded?
As part of the Katrina Gully Reserve upgrade, we're delivering a brand-new basketball pad. The current one is cramped due to its location between the existing playground and large tree, so we're relocating it to widen the court area.
Where will the upgraded playspace, new basketball pad and new outdoor fitness hub be located?
The final design plan indicates where the three main areas will be located. These specific locations have been chosen to optimise the play value and overall connectivity within the reserve.
Will the existing pedestrian path and shared path be improved as part of the upgrade?
The asphalt pedestrian path was identified to be in poor condition, and will now be upgraded to a brand new concrete path to improve access for the community. The shared path will not form part of this upgrade.
