Jumping Creek Road Upgrade - Progress Update - 30 October
Thank you for your patience while we complete these important road and safety improvements in Wonga Park.
We understand that the works, especially night works, have caused some disruption and we appreciate the community's ongoing support.
To minimise further impacts on residents, we have revised our construction schedule to consider the Christmas holiday period, bushfire season and local traffic needs:

Ongoing until 10 November | Works will continue along Jumping Creek Road during the day and will consist of drainage and general road works. |
From 10 November till the first week of December | Based on our previously communicated staging plan, we will be closing the intersection of Yarra Road and Jumping Creek Road to complete the intersection upgrade including drainage and road pavement works. Detours will be in place for traffic entering or exiting Yarra Road. |
Nightworks from 15 till 29 November
| We are undertaking nightworks for a 2-week period to complete the installation of underground drainage around the Yarra Road and Jumping Creek Road intersection. Detours will be in place for traffic entering or exiting Yarra Road. |
We’re looking at the best way to complete the remaining road and footpath works between Yarra Road and Vine Crescent.
An update will be provided to residents in late November.
Noise and environmental controls during works
We have listened to resident feedback and will be placing additional controls during the nightworks:
- where feasible, we’ll program noisier works for the earlier parts of the evening
- we’re installing acoustic panels around the construction site to reduce the impacts of noise
- we’re working to reduce impacts from dust and lighting.
Traffic on Launders Avenue and Hartley Road
We are monitoring traffic flows on Launders Avenue and Hartley Road to avoid congestion at the intersection. We intend to temporarily close the road by installing barriers at the bend of Launders Avenue and Hartley Road, to enforce no through traffic.
Additional information will be provided to residents in the week commencing 2 November about waste collection.
Driveway and crossover works
We are aware that some residents are experiencing driveway access issues following recent works. We are working to resolve these issues and will contact affected residents in the coming weeks.
