FAQs
What does a dog-on-leash area mean?
A dog-on-leash area means all dogs must always be under the effective control of a chain, cord or leash.
A dog-off-leash area means dogs may only be exercised off-leash in a designated free roam area if they are under effective control – this means immediate recall response to their owner.
A reminder about dog poop. Owners of dogs must ensure they have a plastic bag or an acceptable item to clean up after their dogs at all times. Failure to do so can result in an infringement being issued.
Why do we need to change the dog leash controls in this park?
Once the Lions Park is upgraded we expect an increased number of people into this area, leading to greater interaction between users of the area. Users will include dog walkers, families, people exercising and other casual users of the reserve.
How will I know where different leash controls apply?
Visible signage will be located throughout the reserve so users can clearly identify the dog-on-leash areas.
