Carawatha Reserve Expansion and Upgrade

We’re expanding Carawatha Reserve to create more open space for local residents and visitors to Doncaster Hill.

The proposed upgrade will include:

• an extended path network with improved access for bikes and scooters
• additional lawn areas
• new trees
• customised play units to suit multiple ages
• five station fitness hub
• improved picnic facilities with more seating and picnic tables, and a larger shelter and BBQ area.

About this expansion

Carawatha Reserve is located on Carawatha Road in Doncaster. It features a range of play opportunities for young children and BBQ/ picnic facilities for local residents.

This project is part of our long-term planning for Doncaster Hill and was first introduced in the 2002 Doncaster Hill Strategy. It is also identified in our Open Space Strategy. We've acquired and will demolish two adjoining properties to create space for the expansion.

We plan to begin construction in May 2025 and aim to open the new park in August 2025. During construction the community is encouraged to use alternative playspaces at Acheron Reserve and Katrina Gully Reserve.
