We’re expanding Carawatha Reserve to create more open space for local residents and visitors to Doncaster Hill.
The proposed upgrade will include:
an extended path network with improved access for bikes and scooters
additional lawn areas
new trees
a new play space
two new outdoor fitness stations
improved picnic facilities with more seating and picnic tables, and a larger shelter and BBQ area.

About this expansion
Carawatha Reserve is located on Carawatha Road in Doncaster. It features a range of play opportunities for young children and BBQ/ picnic facilities for local residents.
This project is part of our long-term planning for Doncaster Hill and was first introduced in the 2002 Doncaster Hill Strategy. It is also identified in our Open Space Strategy. We've acquired and will demolish two adjoining properties to create space for the expansion.
We plan to begin construction in late 2024 and aim to open the new park in mid-2025.

The demolition at Carawatha Reserve is now complete. The site will remain fenced off from the park until construction is finished.
The final design will be release in February 2025, with construction of the park expansion and improvement to take place from April to June 2025, subject contractor availability.
