Manningham has identified the need for better bus services is a priority for our community. With an election at the end of 2026, now is the time to ensure the government and other political players understand your concerns and the need for investment in delivering better services.
Help us tell the Government and other representatives what matters to you!
We’re advocating to the state government to:
Deliver improved bus routes
Support a feasibility study and subsequent planning for a high-frequency busway along the Doncaster Road corridor (Mitcham Station to Doncaster Park and Ride)
This can be achieved through:
State Government funding of at least $500,000 for a feasibility study and subsequent planning for a high-frequency busway along the Doncaster Road Corridor.
Funding the implementation of revised bus routes identified in the North-East Pilot Program, and Council’s identified routes, being:
An orbital high-frequency route aligned with Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East and future SRL North
A new Templestowe bus route connecting The Pines to Heidelberg Station
Replacing the ‘Manningham Mover’ with a service that better meets community needs
Expanding services to leverage the new Doncaster Park & Ride facility, and the existing Bulleen Park & Ride.
On 22 May, Manningham Council partnered with other local councils to launch the Eastern Transport Coalition’s (ETC) State Election Platform. The Platform is a united voice sending a clear message: Melbourne’s east needs greater investment in public transport to keep our communities connected, support local businesses, and protect our liveability.
Manningham Council is proud to stand with the Eastern Transport Coalition in calling for investment in public transport – and in particular better bus services in Manningham.
We’re asking for feedback on how you use bus services and what other improvements you’d like to see!
