Construction starts on 23 February
We’re improving Aranga Reserve dog park following community feedback.
Where we’ll be working
1 Eastway Avenue in Donvale, in the fenced dog activity area next to Heatherwood School.
What we’re doing
The upgrade will include:
- installation of new entry points
- new shelter
- upgraded and new agility areas
- new furniture
- new path lighting
- additional planting
- path improvements.
Why these works are needed
This project is part of our Parks Improvement Program and will be delivered under our 2025/26 Capital Works Program.
The Aranga Reserve dog park upgrade is supported by the Victorian Government through the New and Upgraded Dog Park program (Round 2).
The upgrade has been informed by community consultation, with feedback helping shape the final design.
When to expect us
- We plan to begin construction on Monday 23 February and finish in May.
- Workers will be on site between 7:00am and 5:00pm on weekdays.
- This schedule is subject to weather conditions.
What this means for you
The dog activity park and reserve will remain open during construction, with some areas fenced off for safety during works.
The closest alternate dog off‑leash reserves are shared spaces. Please be mindful of other park users:
- Koonung Creek Linear Park in Donvale
- Donvale Reserve in Donvale.
We’ll do our best to minimise disruption during this time.
