What’s happening?
We’re upgrading Windella Reserve in Doncaster.
Proposed improvements include:
replacing most of the outdated play equipment with new features such as towers and slide
creating a nature-based play area
developing a peaceful resting spot along the Koonung Creek bike trail
enhancing the playscape with additional tree planting
retaining the existing swing set.
We’d also love to hear your thoughts on the soccer pitch. Do you use it, would you like it replaced, or is there another type of goal you'd like to see in its place? There is also the option to install a goal at the opposite end of the open area such as a multi-purpose goal, a second soccer goal, or something else.
We’re upgrading this playspace due to its age and condition, ensuring the park meets the community’s needs both now and for years to come. The upgrade is part of our Parks Improvement Programand will be delivered under the 2025/26 open space capital works program.
When is it happening?
Consultation for this project is open until Thursday17 April 2025. Once we’ve finalised the design for the upgrade, we’ll provide more information about the timing of construction.
How it might affect you
Windella Reserve will be closed during construction. We recommend using Hampshire Reserve in Doncaster (450 metres away) or Marshall Reserve in Doncaster (560 metres away). There may be occasional impacts on surrounding neighbours, including noise, construction traffic, and decreased street parking. We will do our best to minimise these impacts where possible.
