Why are the facilities at Warrandyte Reserve being upgraded

Warrandyte Reserve is an existing popular dog off lead reserve. We have received $300,000 in grant funding to provide improved informal dog off lead facilities for dogs and their owners. The Warrandyte Reserve northern oval upgrade is supported by the Victorian Government through the New and Upgraded Dog Parks Program.

    What is being upgraded

    The Warrandyte Reserve upgrade includes:

    • drainage improvements on the northern oval so it can be better used all year round
    • a new shelter with seating and storage
    • new drinking fountain with dog bowl
    • a new path connecting both ovals
    • improved fencing to allow easier access into the ovals for dogs and their owners

There are two ovals at Warrandyte Reserve why aren’t both ovals being upgraded?

The Warrandyte Reserve infrastructure upgrade focuses on improvements to the northern oval so it can better service the community, including dogs and their owners, with the main oval primarily used for sports and other recreational activities.

When will the final designs be ready?

The final designs for Warrandyte Reserve upgrade are expected to be completed in early 2025. Subscribe to the Your Say Manningham page for further information as the project progresses.

When will the works begin and how long will they take?

We are expecting the proposed upgrade to begin in the second half of 2025. The grant requires the project be completed by 30 June 2026. We will be liaising with sports clubs before we undertake any ground improvements and will schedule the works between seasons. We will keep the community updated through the Your Say Manningham page as the project progresses. Please subscribe to the page for further information.
