We’ve prepared a draft Timber Reserve Master Plan, shaped by community feedback from the first round of consultation in 2025. We’re now asking for your feedback on the draft plan.
This popular reserve is used for many activities including soccer, cricket, play, dog exercise, walking and jogging. Looking ahead, we want to make sure it continues to support local sports clubs while also meeting the needs of the broader community.
A master plan will set a shared vision for the reserve and improve opportunities for sport and recreation activities.
Where is it?
Timber Reserve is in Doncaster, with the main entrance on Anthony Avenue. The reserve can also be accessed from Timber Ridge, Marilyn Street and Marianne Way.
Priorities of the draft master plan
The draft master plan proposes a range of upgrades and enhancements including:
a new sports pavilion
reconfigured soccer pitches
reconstructed cricket pitch
enhanced informal recreation and play features
new and improved footpaths
improved car parking
changes to vehicle access, including closing the Marianne Way entrance to traffic.
While we received feedback about a fenced dog park at the reserve, it is not included in the draft master plan at this stage. We’ll consider dog park locations more broadly across Manningham as part of our Open Space Strategy, which opens for community feedback later in July.
