Ted Ajani Reserve playspace renewal
Consultation has concluded
As part of our Parks Improvement Program, we upgraded the Ted Ajani Reserve playspace in 2023.
This project was completed in early December 2023. It was funded by our 2023/24 Capital Works Program.

About the upgrade
Ted Ajani Reserve is a district-level park in Templestowe Lower, with a wide range of recreation and play experiences, including fitness equipment, sports oval, tennis courts, public toilets, and a BBQ.
The upgrade included a variety of new and exciting features, including:
- a new playground, offering a range of multi-age play equipment for children of all ages
- a picnic table under a shelter, providing shade for families to relax and enjoy meals
- an integrated sports court
- an improved path link, allowing easy access to the playspace and sport court
Final Design
A second round of consultation was completed in February 2023. After reviewing the feedback the design was modified to include:
- Increased play options for junior and senior play, with a larger combination unit and new animal sculpture.
- An improved footpath network with better connections and increased widths
We also received some requests for additional lighting along the new and existing path areas to improve accessibility in the reserve, which we will deliver as a separate project in early 2024. Further updates will be provided to residents on this project.

As part of our Parks Improvement Program, we're upgrading the Ted Ajani Reserve playspace in 2023.
See below for an initial concept design for the upgrade. This design is gives you an idea of what's possible in the space. Now it's your turn! Share your feedback and ideas, so we can create a design that best suits the needs of our local community.

We want to hear from you:
- What improvements would you like to see?
- What do you like about the current playspace that you want to keep?
- What improvements would encourage you or your family to use this space more?
The proposed upgrade includes:
- senior play unit
- junior play unit and playhouse
- double swing set
- large basket swing
- see-saw
- spinning platform (existing)
- new integrated sports court with basketball and netball goals
- picnic shelter and table
- new access path links
- rock and log edging for natural play opportunities and seating.
The upgrade will be funded by our Capital Works Program. Construction is planned for late 2023.
