FAQs
Why isn't football, cricket, soccer etc. considered in this Plan?
A large amount of work has previously been undertaken to understand the condition of current facilities for these sports. This work has also included an analysis into how many facilities are required to cater for projected future participation in each sport, which is guiding Council's investment into facility development.
Why are you doing this work?
The Sports Facility Development Plan will look into participation, facilities and community expectations for the selected sports. The end result will be a plan that provides recommendations on how Council should spend future funding to help cater for ongoing participation growth in sport. This will ultimately help Council provide adequate sporting facilities for the community into the future.
What will you use this plan for?
The SFDP will help us understand how our current facilities are used, and determine whether they meet current and projected future demand. This will then inform how we spend our future budgets on things like upgrading buildings, constructing new facilities etc.
Will I be able to see the final Plan?
Yes! We will make the Plan available to the community once it is complete.
I've already filled in questions about dirt jumps before, will that be considered in this project?
When we removed the Blackburn Dirt Jumps due to safety and other reasons, we asked the community for feedback on what type of dirt jumps they wanted. We received a large number of responses to this survey. These responses will be collated with feedback received through the SFDP. All feedback will help inform future facilities for dirt jumps.
