Consultation has concluded

Manningham Council is upgrading Schafter Reserve as part of the 2016/17 Neighbourhood Park Development Program.

Community consultation was undertaken in late 2015 and while works were originally scheduled for June 2016, due to weather constraints construction was delayed.

Works are set to commence in October 2016 and are scheduled to be completed by December 2016.

The following improvements have been added to the final design for the reserve:

  • Relocating the playground to ensure the open flat space is still available for play and ball sports
  • Installing a new single unit of fitness equipment
  • Replacing the play unit to include monkey bars, in place of the rocker
  • A new basketball pad with a netball hoop and basketball ring

The significant upgrade to Schafter Reserve has something for young and old to enjoy, and is a new hub for the community to gather and be active. The reserve now includes a giant climbing log, monkey bars, basketball and netball rings, new fitness piece, upgraded paths, new signage and furniture.

Thank you to those who took part in the consultation for this project and provided such great ideas for this important community space.
