Ruffey Lake Park Landscape Masterplan

The Ruffey Lake Park Masterplan provides clear direction for the Park's future design, development and management over the next 15 years.

Recently complete projects:

• Bridges and boardwalks for the circuit path
• Installation of interpretive signage
• Pedestrian crossing upgrade at Church Road north entrance (2024)
• Public artwork installation at Boulevarde Hill (2023)
• Boulevarde Hill precinct upgrade including Ninja Fitness and lookout deck (2023)

The development of the Masterplan

Before being endorsed by Council in 2021, the Masterplan’s development involved a comprehensive review of background documents, extensive engagement with the community, and consultation with key external and internal stakeholders.

More than 1,000 community members provided feedback over two rounds of community consultation.

The plan outlines objectives and recommendations for the park’s ten precincts across six themes:

• Nature and environment
• Ruffey Creek Lake and catchment
• Access, circulation and connections
• Recreation and park infrastructure
• Events and social spaces
• Public appreciation, education and signage

The Masterplan also considers the projects identified in the Waldau Precinct Masterplan 2019, including a significant upgrade of play equipment and a new café at Victoria Street Playground.
