Stage two footpath works to begin in February
We’re improving pedestrian access for the remaining footpath section at Pound Road, Warrandyte. This stage of work will be along the western side of Pound Road, from the Heidelberg-Warrandyte Road intersection to Diane Court.
What we’re doing
We’re constructing a new crushed rock footpath of 1.2 metres wide along the western side of Pound Road. The construction of a formal footpath on Pound Road will enhance safety and accessibility, ensuring everyone, including those travelling with prams or wheelchairs, can use it.
The project aims to address community concerns, including those raised by parents about child safety, particularly at narrow points of the road.
We have consulted with the community on this project over several years. The current design responds to community feedback, which suggested using gravel and crushed rock instead of concrete or asphalt to suit the area's character.
When to expect us
We plan to begin the works in February 2025 and expect them to take approximately four weeks, subject to weather and soil conditions. Workers will be on site between 7.00am and 5.00pm on weekdays.
During these times, you may notice:
- minor delays to driveway access. We’ll contact you at least 48 hours before any work impacting your driveway.
- construction noise and dust.
- reduced on street parking in the area.
- minor traffic disruptions
- a single lane closure.
- footpath closure with pedestrian detour.
Your bin collection will not be affected by the works and emergency services will have unrestricted access at all times.
We’ll have traffic management in place - please follow the directions of signs and staff.
