Project update February 2025: Phase two design in progress

With phase one works now compete, phase two is progressing.

We’re currently finalising the design and easement acquisition and procuring a contractor for phase two of the Melbourne Hill Road drainage upgrade project.

We expect works to begin in late 2025 or early 2026 and take around a year to complete.

Upgrades recently completed as part of stage one include:

• an underground drainage system to reduce flood risk and improve road safety.

• new car parks (near the VET) and line markings for safer parking.

• removal of deep depressions and culverts beside driveways to enhance safety and ease.

• road widening and filling of deep ditches to improve road safety.

• weed removal and planting of indigenous flora to support and enhance biodiversity - we’ll maintain these plantings for two years while they establish.
