Manningham Council’s vision is for a vibrant, safe and culturally diverse community that fosters all aspects of the community's welfare, participation, connectedness, harmony, social inclusion, health and wellbeing.

While reducing and preventing crime are important, community safety is much more than low crime statistics, it is also about a providing a physical environment where people are informed, engaged, valued, welcomed and importantly feel safe. Engaging the local community on community safety issues is an important process of defining current issues and local concerns.

To assist Council to measure perceptions of safety and identify key safety issues, members of the community are encouraged to complete the Manningham Community Safety Survey which will provide Council, Victoria Police and other key stakeholder’s vital information around topics such as:

  • Family violence
  • Anti social behaviour
  • Drugs and alcohol issues
  • Perceptions of safety in the community
  • Personal safety, street crime and home safety
  • Road and pedestrian safety
