Where is it?
Located on Maggs Street in Doncaster East. Maggs Reserve is a small reserve that includes junior play equipment with slides, swing set, a drinking fountain, picnic table, bench seating and mature trees.
Access to the reserve is from Ireland Avenue and Maude Avenue. The reserve provides a path network that allows local residents to utilise these links and also provides an attractive green space within surrounding residential developments for informal recreational pursuits.
Why is it needed?
This upgrade is part of a scheduled 20-year cycle of renewal. The proposed design caters for changes to local demographics and the upgraded space will offer improved active recreation opportunties for the local community.
When is it happening?
- Community consultation on a draft concept design will be open for feedback until 30 April 2024.
- The final design will be available by the end of May 2024.
- Construction is planned to begin in late September or early October 2024. Works are planned to be completed by mid-December 2024. This schedule is subject to weather and contractor availability.
How will the work affect me?
The playspace will be closed during construction. However, the rest of the reserve will remain open. The nearest alternative park is Beverley Reserve, 400 metres away at 115-117 Beverley Street, Doncaster East VIC 3109.
We will make every effort to minimise any disruption to residents and visitors.
