Council has been engaging on this project since 2016. We are still listening and have recently been onsite distributing an information brochure and answering your questions. Your feedback was appreciated and we are working on comments.

Hearing from our community, residents and traders, is important to us and we want to thank everyone for their patience during this period.

This is a significant project which is why we are investing $3.5 million to deliver it.

Background

As a result of the feedback from 2020 and 2021, Council adopted the concept design for the Macedon Square safety and streetscape upgrade in November 2021.

The concept includes a range of features that you told us were important to you and your centre.

These include:

  • Permanent safety treatment within the centre.
  • Further investigation of other suggestions such as locations for new trolley bays, electric vehicle charging station, car share spaces and smart waste bins.
  • Design elements and street furniture that best suits the needs of existing traders in appropriate locations throughout the centre.
  • An opportunity to hear from traders regarding how to best manage and mitigate construction impacts and timing.

Find out more about the process that informed the concept design.
