Draft Inclusive Manningham Strategy 2018-2021 and Year 1 Action Plan

Share your ideas on how Manningham can be more inclusive.

How do you think Manningham can value diversity and be an inclusive and welcoming community?

Our draft Inclusive Manningham Strategy and Action Plan are on public exhibition from Monday 16 July until Monday 13 August 2018. We invite you to share your ideas before we finalise them.

They focus on enhancing inclusion for Manningham’s diverse people and communities, targeting:

  • disability
  • ethnicity and culture
  • language
  • faith
  • gender and sexual identity
  • gender equity

In developing the draft strategy we have considered legislation, Census data, and the views of local organisations and residents.

Four priority areas have been identified:

1. Protecting and promoting Human Rights
We will protect and promote human rights, particularly when developing policies, interpreting and applying local laws and delivering services and making decisions.

2. Enhancing our workplace culture and leadership
We believe inclusiveness starts with strong leadership and we are committed to building an inclusive workplace culture and a diverse workforce that reflects and understands the community we serve.

3. Offering our community equitable opportunities for social and economic inclusion
We are committed to promoting inclusion and participation in all areas of community, economic and civic life. We will design and deliver equitable services, programs, facilities and communications.

4. Valuing diversity and creating a welcoming community
Diversity is one of our greatest strengths. We are committed to valuing the diversity of our community and creating a welcoming community.

    Manningham Council is conducting a survey to gather information on a range of measures to assist us in our planning. 

    We anticipate the survey should take approximately 5 minutes to complete. All responses are strictly confidential.
