Community engagement policy review 2025
Feedback from our survey on the community engagement policy told us:
- Most respondents are happy to do online surveys
- Other consultation methods like workshops were mentioned
- 44% said they felt neutral about their experience of consultation with Council, 39% ranked their experience as either happy or very happy.
- Responses talked about the need to consult early, to better communicate with those directly impacted and to be more transparent about how decisions are made.
This feedback has been helpful in identifying areas where our process and approach can be improved. We’d now like to dig in further.
Local government works to ensure local roads are maintained, animals are registered, local sporting grounds, parks and swimming pools are maintained, we have access to maternal and child health services, and even ensuring local restaurants are meeting health standards so you don’t get sick, and much more. There are a number of ways you can influence council decisions.
When we think about how we are asking our community for feedback on projects and plans we follow the principles of – Listen, Consult, Act and Report. What do you think best practice would look like for these steps? What would you like to see? We will use this feedback to create a new policy and guidelines for all of Manningham Council to helps us understand how you want to be consulted best.
Please add your comments to each action. We'd love to hear your thoughts.
