Council Plan feedback was received!
Following adoption ‘in principle’ by Council on 30 April 2013, the draft Council Plan 2012-2017 including the Strategic Resource Plan, Annual Budget 2013/14, and the Financial Strategy 2013 - 2023 were placed on ‘What Matters Manningham’ from 2 May to 30 May 2013 for public comment.
Council received a total of 27 written public submissions during the public submission period, 26 of which were budget-related.
One submission was received on the draft Council Plan.
In summary, the public submissions related to:
- Relocation of the Kevin Heinz Garden Centre
- Rate concessions for the retirement villages
- Request for new health and welfare program funding; and
- Other submissions relating to funding for bicycle paths, public transport, fire preparedness, BMX and Tennis recreation facilities, leasing of Council property and general commentary on the Budget.
On 4 June 2013, a Special Committee of Council received all written submissions and heard oral presentations from six submitters in support of their written submission. The Special Committee held a meeting again on 6 June 2013 to consider all written submissions.
A Council Meeting was held on 25 June 2013 to adopt the final Council Plan 2013-2017 (incorporating the Strategic Resource Plan), the 2013/2014 Annual Budget and Financial Strategy 2013-2023.
