Are you relocating the playspace?

No, the new playspace will be installed in the current location, while incorporating and protecting the surrounding mature trees. The location is accessible to visitors from the carpark, local streets, and sports clubs.

What type of play equipment will the upgraded playspace include?

The new playspace will offer a range of activities suitable for children aged 2 to 13 years.

There will be a combination play unit with two distinct areas, one catering to toddlers and younger children, and the other featuring challenges for older children. The unit will also include a junior and senior slide.

The new swing set will have a toddler seat and a strap seat. A new feature will be a balance walk installed next to the fitness hub to connect to the existing balance beam.

Lastly, rock steppers will be placed along the tree planting area, providing children with nature play opportunities.

Are you keeping the outdoor fitness hub?

Yes, the outdoor fitness hub is in great condition and conveniently located next to the playspace. The fitness equipment will not be moved or changed as it is outside the scope of this project.

Will this upgrade impact any existing trees?

No, the playspace upgrade will not impact or harm any existing trees. These trees are a valuable park feature, providing shade and contributing to the natural environment.

Are you adding any extra seating to the playspace?

The proposed concept plan adds six to eight more seats to the playspace. This includes a central seating area for group gatherings, as well as individual seats with arm and back conveniently located around the area.

Will you be retaining the current fence?

Yes, the existing perimeter fences will stay. However, the design proposes an additional section of fence, to close the gap between the playspace and the RSL building.

How can I have my say on the proposed improvements to the playspace?

Please share your thoughts on the concept design by using our Feedback Form on the Your Say page before Monday 6 November 2023

We value all feedback received during the consultation process and will carefully consider it to ensure that the upgraded playspace is tailored to meet the community's needs.
