Consultation on the draft master plan as now concluded. Thank you to everyone who attended our drop in session and completed the online survey. All feedback is now being collated and will inform further amendments to the draft master plan.

Help shape the future of Donvale Indoor Sports Centre (DISC)

We’ve developed a draft masterplan for the Donvale Indoor Sports Centre (DISC) to help guide the long-term planning for the site.

The draft masterplan considers:

• The facility and infrastructure needs of existing sport and recreation groups.
• New activities and opportunities for potential new users.
• The local community's passive leisure, sporting and recreational needs.
• The issue of ageing and non-compliant infrastructure.
• Gaps in existing provision and functionality issues.
• Pedestrian and vehicle access, traffic flow and car parking.

What have we heard so far?

In late 2021 we undertook community consultation to seek input into the development of the masterplan, asking the community how they’d like to see DISC developed into the future. This feedback was used to help shape the draft masterplan and inform the following redevelopment options:

• Compliant indoor court run offs for both netball and basketball competitions that can also host a number of other sport and recreation activities such as badminton and table tennis.
• Enhanced gymnastics floor space, administration, program rooms and spectator amenities.
• Redeveloped reception, foyer and kiosk area with flexible break out spaces.
• Multi-purpose fitness / program room.
• Outdoor recreation and fitness training space.
• Improve landscaping and outdoor seating.
• Pathway enhancements and improved lighting.
• Formalised car parking and accessible building entry.
