Consultation has concluded

We are planning some improvements for Dellview Playspace in Donvale.

Dellview Playspace is 1 of 3 playspaces located along the Mullum Mullum Trail. Access to the playspace is from Springwood Close, Dellview Court and via the trail from Springvale Road to the Mullum Mullum Creek Linear Park.

Following community consultation, we’ve finalised what’s planned for the playspace.

The upgrade will include:

  • new swing
  • new mound slide
  • new outdoor gym equipment
  • new double rocker
  • new climbing hut
  • new seats and picnic table
  • nature play
  • landscaped rocks and pavers.

Construction works will start in June and will take about 5 weeks to complete.

    During November and December last year, we sought feedback from local residents and visitors to Dellview Playspace to help inform a concept plan for a playspace upgrade.

    From the consultation, we received 26 surveys as well as a range of written submissions.

    Some of the overall themes of the feedback received included:

    • Dellview Playspace is a valued meeting place for local residents in neighbouring courts
    • The ease of access to the existing playground was viewed as favourable
    • Relocating the playspace was not supported
    • Requests for more challenging equipment
    • Requests to retain the flat grassed area.
    Feedback that has been incorporated into the concept plan, includes:
    • Retaining the playspace in its existing location
    • Incorporating more challenging equipment into the playspace – swinging, climbing and sliding were top three preferred style of activities
    • Providing additional seats and picnic table
    • Retaining open grassed areas to kick a ball
    • Including more trees
    • Including fitness equipment such as chin up bars, pull up bars and parallel bars

    We also received requests for a new basketball court space, barbecue and shelter, however due to location and slope of land within Dellview Playspace, these were not able to be incorporated into the concept plan for this upgrade.
