Help shape the future of Manningham

The community panel came together in March 2021 and handed over the Community Vision and their recommendations to Council on Sunday 28 March 2021. These are available to view in the 'documents' tab (see right hand side).

The Community Vision and recommendations were developed over four sessions (20 hours) of deliberative engagement, where the community panel weighed up information, data and evidence, to make recommendations for Council’s major strategic documents.

Council considered the Community Vision and 12 recommendations on Tuesday 20 April 2021. Council supported all recommendations with 4 minor amendments to broader accountability or easy understanding.

What action is Council taking on the recommendations?

To action the recommendations we are:

• Proposing 10 new Major Initiatives in the 2020/21 Annual Budget to address the Panel recommendations directly. Major Initiatives are key projects for Council to deliver community outcomes. Progress is reported in the Manningham Quarterly Report.
• Developing actions for the new Council Plan 2021-2025.
• Sharing the recommendations through CEO briefings to staff across the organisation to make sure they are considered in the development of other strategies where relevant.

We encourage you to have your say on the Annual Budget 2021/22 from 26 May 2021 – 7 June. We will let you know when the draft Council Plan is open for consultation (anticipated in early July).
