Thank you for your feedback
Thank you to everyone who participated in the survey around the concept plan for the playground and picnic area. We appreciate your time and will use your feedback to finalise the design for the Burgundy Reserve upgrade.
24 people participated in the survey, 70% supported the concept plan and the development will continue.
Top themes
- 6 people, (25%) asked for a half-court basketball court, unfortunately we will not be able to provide one here as there is insufficient space to include one in the park due to the slope along the embankments and the trees on site which need a buffer around them for safe growth.
- 5 people (20%) asked us not to change anything as they want the park to be preserved as is and not to have too many visitors. We will work to preserve the intimate, local feeling of the reserve and retain its character through the development.
- 3 people (12%) asked for some exercise equipment. The closest exercise equipment is only a 5-minute walk away in the Tullamore estate off Aberdeen Drive so we will not be providing a fitness station at this reserve. We will explore the opportunity to include some chin up bars in the playground. The new shared path between Burgundy Drive and Vintage Avenue will also make it easier to access the existing equipment.
- 2 (8%) people asked for the reserve to be fully fenced for dog walking. We will be fencing the Burgundy Drive section of the park.
Next steps
We will use your feedback to finalise the design of the reserve. We will update you with the final design and inform you when construction will begin. We are anticipating works to start in the second half of 2025.
