Construction set to begin at Burgundy Reserve.
Phase one of construction is set to begin on the Burgundy Reserve upgrade in mid-October 2025.
What's happening?
- Installation of a new concrete perimeter path, including a new shared path along the southern side of Burgundy Reserve connecting Burgundy Drive to Cellar Way.
- Installation of new seating around the reserve.
- Preliminary works for the new toilet.
When will this happen?
Construction will begin in mid-October 2025 and will take around 6 weeks to complete, subject to weather and conditions.
What this means for you?
During the works Burgundy Reserve will be partially closed and workers will be on site from 7.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday. The closest alternate playgrounds are at Sommerville Reserve, 370 metres away at Somerville Street in Doncaster, and Brendan Reserve, 600 metres away at Brendan Avenue in Doncaster.
You may also notice:
- construction noise and dust
- minor traffic disruptions.
We’ll have signage on site and traffic management in place at times.
When do phase 2 works begin?
We’ve planned to start construction on phase 2 of the upgrade in early 2026. This phase will include a new playground, shelter, picnic area, toilet, fencing, lighting and planting.
Why is this happening?
The last major upgrade at Burgundy Reserve was over 20 years ago and the current play equipment has reached the end of its useful life. This project presents a valuable opportunity to refresh the playspace and surrounding reserve. The upgrade is part of our Parks Improvement Program, will be delivered under our capital works program is and partly funded by the DEECA New and Improved Dog Parks Program.
