New path now open at Burgundy Reserve

Phase one of the Burgundy Reserve upgrade is now complete, featuring a new concrete perimeter path with surrounding seating and a shared southern walkway linking Burgundy Drive to Cellar Way.

What’s next?

Construction on Phase 2 of the project will begin in early 2026. This phase will include the installation of a new playground, shelter, picnic area, toilet, fence, lights and planting.

Will the reserve be closed during construction?

Parts of Burgundy Reserve will be closed during the second phase of construction but there will be areas you can safely use too. We will make every effort to minimise any disruption to residents and visitors during the construction period.

The closest alternate playgrounds are at Sommerville Reserve, 370 metres away at Somerville Street in Doncaster, and Brendan Reserve, 600 metres away at Brendan Avenue in Doncaster.

Why is this happening?

The last major upgrade at Burgundy Reserve was over 20 years ago and the current play equipment has reached the end of its useful life. This project presents a valuable opportunity to refresh the playspace and surrounding reserve. The upgrade is part of our Parks Improvement Program, will be delivered under our capital works program and is partly funded by the DEECA New and Improved Dog Parks Program.
