Seeking inspiration from the community
Artist Impression: Pavilion 2
You are invited to complete our survey to tell us what Bulleen Park means to you, your family, our community and/or your sporting club. Your input will then be used to inspire the future naming of the new Bulleen Park features.
Once received, we will share our community’s inspiration with the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung, as we continue to build on the connection between Bulleen Park’s cultural and historical significance and the value it holds to our community today.
These questions may help you when submitting your response:
- When you think of these new facilities, how have they, or how will they, inspire you to play sport, keep active or keep enjoying the surrounds?
- When you think about the nearby natural and cultural environment of the Yarra River (Birrarung), local flora and fauna what is significant to you?
- Is this a place where you meet your friends, start something new, give your best effort, enjoy volunteering your time or simply relax with a peaceful quiet walk?
Tell us what you think!

You can reflect on your previous experiences at Bulleen Park or focus on what the future holds.
The consultation will close at 5pm Thursday 20 August 2026, and forms an early step in the naming process, which we are aiming to finalise in time for the reopening of Bulleen Park in 2027.
About Bulleen Park
Bulleen Park, and the surrounding Birrarung-Bolin precinct, hold deep cultural significance for the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people, particularly the surrounding environmental elements including the Bolin Bolin Billabong, the Birrarung (Yarra River) and the centuries old river red gums.
Bulleen Park is also known as a multi-sport precinct providing sport and recreation opportunities for multiple clubs and people of many different ages, genders and backgrounds. Active sport activities include AFL, cricket, archery and aeromodellers.
The peaceful surrounding Yarra River (Birrarung) and bushland reserve offers active leisure and social connection opportunities including walking trails, play space, picnic and barbecue facilities and the Bolin Bolin Cultural Heritage Precinct. Bulleen Park is a special place for all of our community.
