What happens to my submission?

Once we receive your submission we will refer it to Council officers who will evaluate:

    • How your ideas benefit the community
    • Any costs associated with your ideas and impacts to other services / activities, including the resources or capacity needed.
    • If your ideas align with Council’s plan, vision, mission and policies and if it is the role of Council to deliver on those ideas.

Officers will then submit a report containing all submissions and evaluations to Council for consideration.

    What is a Council Plan?

Council elections are held every four years.  After Councillors are elected to Council, a Council Plan is developed to say what the Council intends to do over its term.  The Council Plan is developed in consultation with the community, partners and Council officers

The last Council plan was developed in 2017 with the help of 1000's of voices in our local community. The current Council plan have five key themes and 11 main goals for the 2017-21 term.

Council is committed to delivering the actions in the Council Plan. Each year Council staff look at the key initiatives, services and activities that are needed to deliver on the Council Plan, as well as key opportunities and challenges for coming year.  This is presented in a draft Budget to Council and opened for community feedback.

What are the Council Plan themes?

The Manningham Council Plan has five themes:

    • Healthy Community
    • Liveable Places and Spaces
    • Resilient Environment
    • Prosperous Vibrant Economy
    • Well Governed Council.

Goals for each theme were developed in consultation with the community and partners, Councillors and staff. We progress these goals through actions and major initiatives each year.
