We’ve listened – thanks to everyone who provided feedback on the Beverley Reserve upgrade

We’d like to thank everyone who provided feedback on the proposed upgrade to Beverley Reserve Playground in Doncaster East.

Your input has been invaluable in helping us shape the final design, ensuring the space continues to meet the needs of our local community.

During consultation we received 20 community responses with 16 in support of the proposed concept plan.

What you liked about the concept plan:

  • the new picnic area
  • upgraded play equipment
  • a new pathway connecting Beverley Street and Talford Street.

Suggestions for improvement included:

  • more seating
  • better maintenance of existing trees and shrubs
  • a dog bowl at the drinking fountain
  • lighting on path

Additional ideas

We also received suggestions to include features such as a BBQ area, a bike track, a larger shade structure, fitness equipment, a flying fox, and enclosed dog park.

While these items are outside the scope of the current budget, they’ll be considered as part of future planning for the reserve.

What’s next?

The final design plan, including the confirmed play equipment, is currently in development and will be available in September 2025.

Playground construction is scheduled to begin November 2025, subject to contractor availability.
