FAQs
When will the project be completed?
This will depend on commencement and is subject to community engagement. If the Concept Plan is well received it is possible that the project could be completed in mid 2021.
Will the number of car parking spaces stay the same?
To accommodate the new outdoor dining, the accessibility parking space and landscaping areas, one car space will be removed from the front of the shops. There will be parking lines provided at the rear of the shops, facilitating more parking opportunities nearby.
What about the Loading Zone?
The Loading Bay will be relocated closer to the rear laneway on Parkview place, to accommodate more customer parking.
What about Accessible Parking?
The current accessibility bay is non-complaint with the Australian standards and deemed unsuitable for the site conditions. A new accessible bay will include an alighting area and will improve safety for users.
How are you engaging on this Concept Plan?
We are engaging on this Concept Plan in a variety of ways:
Online via Your Say: the online survey is open to everyone for the month of May 2021.
Online via social media: This page will be promoted on our social media channels.
In-person: we have worked with traders and firms on the strip to draft the Concept Plan. We will continue to discuss ideas with them.
QR Code poster: there will be a poster at the Ayr St shops displaying a QR code to access this page and the survey.
Flyers: we are distributing flyers to residents within a 200m radius with information on the proposal and how to access the survey.
