FAQs
Why has this draft master plan been developed?
The draft Anderson Park Master Plan has been developed in response to the significant changes occurring in the area. High-rise apartments being constructed next to Anderson Park will see more and more people using the Park. With this extra usage, we want to make sure the Park meets the community’s needs both now and into the future.
What consultation has been undertaken with the community so far?
Earlier this year we undertook consultation with the tenant sporting club (Doncaster Rovers Soccer Club), the community, and other relevant stakeholders. Unfortunately, Covid lockdowns meant we were unable to complete our planned onsite consultation, however, we did receive a large number of responses from the community via our online survey. These responses have informed the content of the draft master plan.
Will there be an opportunity to meet Council Officers to provide feedback on the draft master plan?
Yes! We are planning to hold an onsite consultation session on Saturday 5 February between 10 am and 2 pm. More information on this session will be provided on the Yoursay Page closer to the date.
Is the draft master plan final?
No, the draft master plan has been developed based on initial feedback from the community and other stakeholders. We are now giving the community an opportunity to view the draft master plan and to tell us whether we got it right.
What happens to my feedback?
The feedback we receive will be used to further refine the draft master plan. Following this, the updated master plan will be presented to Council for endorsement.
When will this plan be implemented?
The plan is currently in draft stage. It is anticipated that the draft master plan will be presented to Council for endorsement in May 2022. Once the master plan is endorsed, the projects listed in the plan will be added to our capital works program for delivery. Actual delivery dates for each individual project will be determined based on the project priority, budget and available grant funding.
