Manningham Council has more than 150 buildings that are hired out to community groups and sporting clubs under a range of different agreements. These buildings provide a place for community activity and help shape a vibrant Manningham.
We are now looking to standardise the way we charge our community groups who use our facilities.
A Draft Community Facilities Access and Concession Policy has been developed to support a fair and equitable approach in the way discounts are applied across community groups. The policy outlines a rationale based on discount levels across five different categories of user groups.
Within this proposed policy, users are categorised in different groups based on characteristics like community benefit, ability to pay and ability to make profit among other things.
In April, we tested these categories with focus groups involving a sample of community members and user groups. We thank those who participated and are now seeking community feedback.
