Consultation has concluded
The intersection of Ringwood-Warrandyte Road/Croydon Road/Husseys Lane and Brumbys Road in Warrandyte South is known locally as ‘5 Ways’. The 5 Ways intersection is on State controlled arterial roads managed by the Department of Transport (DoT, formerly VicRoads).
5 Ways has been the site of a number vehicle crashes and incidents. We are concerned about the ongoing safety issues associated with this intersection and continue to urge DoT to undertake improvements.
DoT is in the process of gathering evidence to move this road up their priority list. Let’s work together to provide this evidence!

Update - January 2022
Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback about 5 Ways intersection.
We appreciate that the safety issues at this intersection are not new. We have been discussing these issues with the Department of Transport (DoT) at various levels since 2014.
To support the advocacy we are doing on the Your Say page, we have recently undertaken a traffic survey at the intersection. The survey has given us useful information about the number of users of the intersection and the direction that vehicles are travelling. Traffic volumes are returning to pre-COVID levels and more vehicles would make the intersection more dangerous. We have forwarded the results of this survey to the DoT for consideration.
We are also investigating low-cost interim measures that DoT could put in place in the short term to make the intersection safer. DoT also has access to their CrashStats database to inform their planning.
We will continue to advocate to ensure that this intersection is at the forefront of DoT planning and funding decisions. You can still take part by sharing your experiences of using the intersection.
